Net zero and climate resilient health care services: How do we get there?

Perspectives & Insights

SESSION RECORDING

Climate change and extreme weather events are already increasing health service demand and severely impacting the ability to deliver universal health care. At the same time, healthcare has a significant environmental impact as services are resource intensive and generate substantial waste, creating environmental harm which subsequently affects human health.

The session offered insights into potential options and presented a case study of a framework successfully implemented to achieve the NetZero goal within the healthcare sector. Additionally, it shed light on the challenges of adapting successful approaches from other contexts and underscored the importance of designing local solutions for a global issue.
